Do you wonder what dangling modifiers are?
These are dangling modifiers.–
Walking to the park, my ears were frozen.
When purchasing a car, the price should be the biggest consideration.
What makes these dangling modifiers? In the first sentence, the author is stating that his or her ears were walking to the park. In the second sentence, the price is purchasing a car.
Essentially, when we write with dangling modifiers, we write descriptive phrases that point to or modify words that are not clearly stated in our sentences, making our sentences illogical.
